A new art collective is presenting it’s inaugural exhibition at the Anteros Arts Foundation in Norwich this July. The Chelsea Collective is an international collective of artists, drawn from postgraduate alumini of Chelsea College of Art and Design. It is a forum for collaborations and touring exhibitions across the artist’s home towns. The members met during 2010 whilst studying together.
Artist Will Teather, based in Norwich, is hosting the first exhibition at Anteros. Future shows have been planned across London, Canada and USA in both city and rural settings.
Teather has said: “Every artist in the collective is mounting an exhibition or happening in their own town. The idea is to bring international artwork to a wider audience, and often areas that wouldn’t normally have an exhibition of this kind of contemporary, cutting edge work. The hope is that these events will also act as a continued forum for the development of new artwork amongst members of the group.”
The show runs from 12-28 July 2012 and will feature a wide variety of artforms including painting, video, sculpture and installation.
Artists featured are Rebecca Byrne, Eun Sook Choi, Aaron Distler, Liz Elton, Isabel Ferreira, Gosia Kozak, Lana Locke, Jo Race, Jeeti Singh, Will Teather, Mu Tian, Adam Walker, Ian Warner, Sarah Pager and Ann-Marie James.
